C. Edward Buffington
President & Chief Operating Officer
As President and COO, Mr. Buffington is responsible for directing and implementing the company’s long-term strategic goals. He ensures that OfficeMate Software Solutions has the highest quality leaders in every department. Mr. Buffington personally monitors the daily, weekly, and monthly performance of the various teams within the company to ensure that OfficeMate Software Solutions provides the eyecare industry's best software and the best solutions for the nearly 10,000 OfficeMate Software Solutions' client locations.
Mr. Buffington founded OfficeMate Software Solutions in 1983, and he sold his first optometric turnkey system one year later.

Rob Adams
Vice President of Development
As VP of Software Development, Mr. Adams leads the Software Development Team by prioritizing projects and allocating development resources based on the various industry demands. He works closely with the Product Management, Client Services, Sales, and Training Teams to create, update, and enhance OfficeMate Software Solutions products. Prior to joining OfficeMate Software Solutions, Mr. Adams worked for over 15 years developing healthcare practice management and electronic medical records software in the medical and dental industries.

Mark Bruskin
Senior Vice President of Sales
Mr. Bruskin oversees and directs the Sales Team, orchestrates sales campaigns, and personally makes sales calls. Mr. Bruskin acts as a liaison between prospective clients and various OSS teams to help prospective clients make informed decisions about purchasing the software solution that is right for their practices. He also helps the Regional Sales Vice Presidents and clients understand how OfficeMate and ExamWRITER can benefit practices by improving efficiency and increasing their revenue.

Bill Hatch
Vice President of Marketing
As Vice President of Marketing, Mr. Hatch is responsible for all OfficeMate Software Solutions marketing efforts including trade show management, media placement and relations, and development of marketing collateral, advertising, and various corporate communications.
Prior to joining OfficeMate Software Solutions, Mr. Hatch was a partner in a southern California advertising agency that provided marketing services to such clients as CooperVision, Allergan, Alcon, and many Fortune 500 companies in the financial services and high technology industries.

Ian Lane, OD, FAAO
Vice President of Professional Services
Dr. Lane fills a multifaceted role at OfficeMate Software Solutions. His major functions include spearheading the ExamWRITER Design Team, overseeing instrument integration, and maintaining industry relations. Dr. Lane represents OSS to the eyecare profession, oversees regulatory affairs and academic affairs, and acts as a resource for the Sales, Marketing, and Steering Committee Teams.
Dr. Lane has enjoyed many accomplishments throughout his career. He practiced from 1983 to 2004. He is a past chairman of the COA Contact Lens and Anterior Segment Symposium, a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a member of AOA, a member of Optometric Consultants in Contact Lenses, and a past member of the American Society of Contact Lens Specialists. Dr. Lane has held academic posts in South Africa and the University of Houston’s College of Optometry, where he was Chief of Contact Lenses from 1978 to 1980. Dr. Lane has lectured extensively in the United States, Asia, England, Europe, and Southern Africa and has numerous publications to his credit. Dr. Lane served on the advisory panel for one of the first excimer laser manufacturers and for a company developing new custom-cast, molded spectacle lenses. Dr. Lane has also served on the advisory panel at Johnson & Johnson’s Vistakon division.

Jim Sotiropoulos
Vice President of Client Services
Mr. Sotiropoulos joined OfficeMate Software Solutions after working in the optical industry for 13 years as the Vice President of Operations for a Midwestern eyecare provider. He has an intimate understanding of the challenges facing each provider from firsthand experiences, and his role in managing optical operations has informed his approach to leadership at OfficeMate Software Solutions. As VP for Client Services, Mr. Sotiropoulos oversees two teams of professionals: the Client Services Team, who answer support calls from locations across the country, and the OSSU Team, who conduct on-site and online software training sessions. Mr. Sotiropoulos personally responds to clients who have comments or suggestions about support and training. Under his leadership, the Client Services and OSSU Teams strive to provide the very best and most comprehensive support and training in the industry.

Craig M. Staffin
Vice President of Product Development
As the VP of Product Development, Mr. Staffin is responsible for coordinating resources from the Development Team and Quality Assurance Team to shape OfficeMate Software products in the direction that best serves OSS clients. Mr. Staffin has worked as an independent consultant working with multilocation chains from two locations to 108 locations and has successfully implemented multilocation software and business methodologies within major eyecare practices. Prior to implementing software and business methodologies, Mr. Staffin worked for 17 years in various aspects of operations at a 22-location chain.

Carol A. Wilcox
Vice President of Administration and Operations
As VP of Administration and Operations, Mrs. Wilcox supports OSS team members and OSS clients by maintaining the OSS infrastructure required to provide services including servers, networks, computer hardware, software, and telephones. Mrs. Wilcox also provides administrative assistance to the various teams within OfficeMate Software Solutions. Prior to joining OSS, Mrs. Wilcox worked as an optometric assistant.
